Kochi has been selected as one of the three cities for the MobiliseHER project, an initiative funded by the European Union aimed at promoting gender-inclusive urban mobility. With a major emphasis on inclusivity, MobiliseHER seeks to integrate women, sexual minorities, and differently abled individuals into safe and accessible transportation systems.

This ambitious three-year project is being implemented in two other Indian cities:  Bangalore and Ahmedabad. The implementation partners include the World Resources Institute (WRI) in Bangalore and the CEPT Research and Development Foundation (CRDF) in Ahmedabad. The Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) organization is leading the participatory process across all cities, ensuring community engagement and inclusive decision-making.

In Kochi, the project is being implemented with the Urban Electric Mobility Initiative (UEMI) and in collaboration with the Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR).
